About the Event
This month we offer a very special drawing workshop, as chosen by our audience!
We have found 3 VERY inspiring models, and will have them take the stage for all of us to draw! Hint: They are furry, loveable, playful, and just the BEST.
Yes, that's right - WE ARE DRAWING DOGS.
We will start with a basic 30 minute lecture about animal anatomy, specifically focusing on dogs, then bring in the furbabies for 20 minute sessions individually so as not to overstimulate them. The owners will be on stage with them to offer some love.
We want to make all audiences VERY aware that dogs typically do NOT make good models - they are going to be moving, sniffing, hiding, playing - and being just general wild beasts. Although most creatures (humans included) typically revert to the same 5 poses, we will be focusing on the motion and personality of the animal more than making a single beautiful image. Think quick studies and sketches! We will give you a quick guide for how best to use your time and model in this challenge.
The dogs would love you to donate any drawing you have to their owner, and ask that you please respect their human's wishes about being petted, fed treats, and general attention.
Registration is required, and we recommend you book in advance. Cost is 150kr for non-members. Please bring your own supplies to draw with.
Blank Space offers weekly life drawing workshops every Tuesday rotating in topics from kroki, portrait, akt, and clothed figure drawing. BUT when we have 5 Tuesdays in a month, we let our audience decide what they want to draw!
YOU decide, WE organize!
